The Cat in West Hoathly was an excellent pub in a village full of original Tudor buildings with an 11th century church (17th century tower).

The food was excellent, though usual gastropub prices, and the beer was particularly good.

On the way back through Shagswell Wood (snigger) we saw a couple of Hornets. I kid you not, these things where at least 2 inches long! According to a little research they must've been queens to be that big.

Saw the Bluebell Railway and waved at the occupants. Found masses of wild garlic in the woods, mmmmmMMMMMmmmm.
